Jeanine Serralles is a theater and movie actress whose best known work was her role as Joy in the Coen Brothers' critically acclaimed film "Inside Llewyn Davis" (2013). Serralles began her acting career in theater. She performed in several off-Broadway plays including "The Black Eyed" (2007), "The Misanthrope" (2007), and "The Glass Cage" (2008). After establishing herself in theater, she began to venture into film and television. Her first television appearance was on the smash HBO comedy series "Sex and the City" (1998-2004) as an extra in the episode "The Post-It Always Sticks Twice." In 2007, Serralles was cast as in the supporting role of Dani in "Across the Universe" (2007), a musical romantic drama set to a soundtrack of songs by the Beatles. Over the course of the next few years, she continued to collaborate in various theater projects while landing small guest roles on various TV series In 2013, she landed a recurring role in the espionage drama "Person of Interest" (CBS 2011-). Later that year, critics lauded her performance in the Coen Brothers' "Inside Llewyn Davis." The film explores one week in the life of an aspiring singer-songwriter in New York's folk scene in 1961. Serralles played the suburban housewife sister of the film's titular main character, played by Oscar Isaac.
