Kevin Costner returns Wednesday, June 19, in Season 2 of Yellowstone as rancher John Dutton, whose ocean of grass is threatened on all sides.
“I run this valley,” John growls. “And there’s a war coming.”
The main challenger to the throne is his exiled son Jamie (Wes Bentley), who’s teaming up with local Native American chief Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) to come for his land, the largest ranch in the U.S.
In the series, the Dutton family is under constant attack from land developers, an Indian Reservation, and America’s first National Park. In the season premiere episode, “Thundering”, Kayce settles into his new role at the ranch. A damaging article threatens to expose John. Rainwater pitches his new plan to the tribal council.
The impressive cast list for Yellowstone also includes Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill and Jefferson White.
