‘Will Trent’: Faith Comforts Distraught Angie After Will Is Presumed Dead (PHOTOS)
Will Trent returned with a doozy of a cliffhanger on Tuesday’s (January 6) Season 4 premiere episode: Will Trent (Ramón Rodríguez) is now presumed dead by the Atlanta police after he was coerced by serial killer James Ulster (returning guest star Greg Germann) to help him escape after fleeing prison, and two male bodies were found in a burned-out car and, as the teaser above indicates, the remains are consistent with Will and James’ identities.
So is Will really dead? Probably not. As Rodriguez himself told TV Insider, “By the end of the episode, we’re left with this real cliffhanger. I can’t reveal too much, obviously, but I will say that’s going to be the kind of season where we’re going to really take folks through a real ride. That end of the episode is very questionable. Obviously, the show’s called Will Trent. We’re probably not going to lose our hero in the first episode, but we’re going to see him sort of have to really navigate and deal with some real difficult decisions as to who he is … He’s always been such a morally correct and trying-to-stay-on-the-right-path kind of guy. I think we’re going to really push those boundaries and test him to see how far it will go.”
The official description for the episode confirms Will’s fate won’t be quite so grim, as it reads, “When Will disappears and is presumed dead, the team scrambles for answers. As Angie [Erika Christensen] questions the evidence, it becomes clear something isn’t adding up, while Will, trapped and wounded, races to outsmart his captor.”
Still, photos from the episode indicate that Angie will be a bit despondent by what she finds at the crime scene and will get some emotional support from none other than Faith (Iantha Richardson), while Caleb (Yul Vazquez) and Amanda (Sonja Sohn) also respond to the site.
