It’s 2019, and that means viewers are that much closer to learning more about the Pearson family when This Is Us returns January 15 on NBC.

The family drama left viewers with a major cliffhanger when it was revealed that Jack’s (Milo Ventimiglia) brother Nicky (Michael Angarano) didn’t die in the Vietnam War and was in fact still alive in the current timeline.

Where will the midseason premiere pick up? It appears as though Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan) are in the midst of baby prep while Randall (Sterling K. Brown) is still campaigning.

Then there’s Zoe (Melanie Liburd) and Kevin (Justin Hartley), who discovered the information about Jack’s brother while in Vietnam. Will they have searched for Nicky? Fans will have to tune in to find out, but until then, scroll through the images above for a sneak peek at the show’s 2019 return.
