Kevin and his first love/former wife Sophie may have parted ways for what they believed was the last time, but they continue to enter each other’s orbits. In the winter premiere, Kevin got a call from her at the same time he was lamenting his inability to find a love like his parents’. Is their relationship history over or just getting started?
Madison (Caitlin Thompson)
OK, so Madison and Kevin aren’t each other’s biggest fans, but maybe that’s exactly the redirection the writers want. Madison has been around for a number of family events, and the two comically annoy each other. Perhaps a shared interest could forge a bond between them? Kate already approves of Madison. Plus, she and Kevin recently teamed up to advise Kate about Toby’s Crossfit friends. Could that continue?
Zoe (Melanie Liburd)
Beth’s (Susan Kelechi Watson) cousin first caught the eye of Kevin at Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby’s (Chris Sullivan) wedding. The two embarked on a romance that was mostly good until they couldn’t see eye-to-eye on having children (he wanted them, she didn’t) and things ended. Could they be rekindled over time? Perhaps she’ll have a change of heart when it comes to a family? It may be less likely than other possibilities, but we’re not ruling her out.
Cassidy (Jennifer Morrison)
A viable option would be for Kevin to end up with the army vet after the two bonded during Kevin’s stay with Uncle Nicky (Griffin Dunne). Considering how Kevin’s fiancée is pregnant in the flash-forward, their brief tryst could have produced a child. But would she leave her son and husband for the actor? Seems unlikely.
Mystery Woman
We know the clock is ticking when it comes to Kevin’s timeline and his impending engagement and baby-to-be. Still, is there a chance he still hasn’t met the woman who will fill that role in his life? It’s definitely a possibility. Only time will tell, but hopefully answers will be given before Season 4’s end.
