‘The Golden Bachelor’: Meet All 22 Women Vying for Gerry Turner’s Heart (PHOTOS)
The wax and wanes of love don’t end as you get older, and the golden-aged beauties in The Golden Bachelor exemplify this. ABC released pictures and short blurbs about the 22 contestants, all vying for the affection of Gerry Turner, a 71-year-old widower, in the inaugural season of this more mature take on The Bachelor. Spanning the ages of 60 to 75, these women boast careers marked by substantial accomplishments, setting them apart from the usual Bachelor/ette lineup, often occupied by influencers and jobless aspirants. Coincidentally, one contender holds familiarity with the franchise: Patty, the mother of former Bachelor Matt James.
Gerry, having mourned the passing of his wife, Toni, in 2017, stands prepared to embrace love anew. The upcoming spinoff series, hosted by Jesse Palmer, is set to showcase a “whole new kind of love story — one for the golden years,” according to the official ABC synopsis. “A hopeless romantic is given a second chance at love in the search for a partner with whom to share the sunset years of life,” the description continues.
