Otis Picked Ola

While some may have been rooting for Otis (Asa Butterfield) and pal Maeve (Emma Mackey) to get together, he found happiness with the quick-spoken Ola (Patricia Allison) who happens to be the daughter of mom Jean’s (Gillian Anderson) boyfriend Jakob (Mikael Persbrandt).

Friends Who Stick Together

In the end of Season 1, Aimee (Aimee Lou Woods) stuck with Maeve, picking a genuine friend over the clique of posh peeps she was hanging out with in the beginning. This should mean more fun friend moments for the ladies heading into Season 2.

Eric’s Relationship Problems

Despite coming into his own and displaying his confident side throughout the season, Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) ran into some romantic problems with Adam (Connor Swindells). The repressed bully conveyed his feelings for Otis’ best friend in the final episode of Season 1, but left Eric on an uncertain note — hopefully answers are ahead.

Jackson’s Struggle

The pressure of being Moordale Secondary’s star athlete really got to Jackson (Kedar Williams-Stirling) by Season 1’s end, and after earning the school another title in swimming he was told to stay away from Maeve if he wants to continue his sports reign. Will he listen to what he’s been told or will he return to Maeve’s orbit?

Adam in the Army

By Season 1’s end, Adam was packing his bags and heading off to military school — a decision made by his father and Moordale principal Mr. Groff (Alistair Petrie). The change is against Adam’s wishes to stay, but we’re wondering how this detail will play into the second season.

Maeve’s Dark Cloud

Even when she seems to be doing fine, Maeve gets dealt another heavy hand of cards. In the finale, she learned her brother had left their home, leaving her to fend for herself amidst scrutiny by the teachers at school and struggles with Jackson and Otis. Will she manage to have things on track when the show returns?

Otis and Jean’s Bond

The conflict between mother and son was fairly obvious throughout the first season as Otis struggled to find his voice as an honorary sex therapist via the knowledge his sex therapist mother, Jean, had imparted over time. Add in teen angst and you’ve got one crazy concoction. Luckily, it seemed like things had evened out between them, but could her relationship with Ola’s father Jakob backfire?

Otis’ Discovery

Despite giving advice to his peers when it came to sex, the inexperienced Otis was leading the way blindly. By the season’s end viewers witnessed the high schooler undergo a … transformation in that department. Now that he’s more in touch with that side of himself, it’s hard to know what fans can expect from this “new” Otis.
