7 Reality Stars Who Have Starred on Broadway (PHOTOS)
Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin
Before Lisa Rinna signed on for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the actress starred opposite her husband Harry Hamlin in a 2007 Broadway production of Chicago. Rinna’s iconic short hairdo was given a flapper twist as Roxie Hart, with Hamlin portraying Hart’s lawyer Billy Flynn.
Erika Jayne
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills beauty makes her highly-anticipated Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago on January 6, 2020. No doubt fellow RHOBH star Rinna will be there opening night to cheer her on!
NeNe Leakes
The hit musical based on the Windy City was also home to Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes, whose turn as Matron Mama Morton was spot-on. Leakes also showed her singing chops as Madame in Rodger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella with Keke Palmer as Cinderella in 2014.
Kandi Burress
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss also had her own turn in the coveted “Mama” prison guard role for Chicago last year.
Katharine McPhee
After Jennifer Hudson brought Dreamgirls to the silver screen, fellow former American Idol contestant Katharine McPhee brought her stunning voice to Broadway’s Waitress. McPhee even opened an additional run of the production in London. The multitalented star is also known for her acting on CBS’s Scorpion and NBC’s Emmy Award-winning musical drama Smash.
Jordin Sparks
Following in the footsteps of fellow American Idol alum McPhee, Jordin Sparks recently joined Waitress on Broadway as the lead role of Jenna through October 27. Grammy-nominated Sparks made her Broadway debut with In the Heights in 2010.
Peppermint
The RuPaul’s Drag Race star Peppermint made history as the first openly-transgender woman to originate a principal Broadway role with her interpretation of Pythio in Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer’s Head Over Heels. The musical, set to songs by the Go-Gos, was a modern reworking of Sir Philip Sydney’s Arcadia.
