‘Widow’s Bay,’ ‘Dutton Ranch,’ ‘Scrubs’ & 7 More Must-Watch Shows From 2026
When it comes to new TV shows, 2026 has given viewers plenty to enjoy, with a plethora of dramas, comedies, and everything in between to sink their binge-watching teeth into.
From the nostalgia-driven revival of Scrubs and Apple TV‘s fan-favorite horror comedy Widow’s Bay to Paramount+‘s highly-anticipated Dutton Ranch, there’s something for everyone. Scrubs (Hulu)
Sarah Chalke, Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and other Sacred Heart Hospital favorites are back alongside a fresh set of interns for a standout season. Rarely does a revival evoke the warm fuzzies of its original like this one. Other returnees: the pesky janitor (Neil Flynn), Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) and nurse Carla (Judy Reyes). —Meaghan Darwish
Widow's Bay (Apple TV)
Season 1 of the horror-comedy led by Matthew Rhys as the mayor of a cursed island off the New England coast scored 19 Emmy noms, including Lead Actor for Rhys and Outstanding Comedy. That’s the third-largest total, behind only much-awarded comedy Hacks (24 noms) and new drama powerhouse The Pitt (25). The growth in Bay enthusiasm is reminiscent of the first season of BBC America’s thrilling Killing Eve in 2018. That show’s ratings grew from strong word of mouth when — like Widow’s Bay — it surprised viewers with how compelling and fun it was. —Michael Fell
The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins (Peacock)
This NBC mockumentary came with high expectations—and smashed them. The unexpected hilarity of Tracy Morgan‘s shunned footballer Dinkins alongside his snubbed British documentarian Arthur Tobin (Daniel Radcliffe) as they team up to create a film, all while staging their individual comebacks, won us over, as did the rest of the ensemble comedy’s killer cast: Erika Alexander as Reggie’s ex-wife and manager, Bobby Moynihan as his live-in BFF, Precious Wayv as his new love and Jalyn Hall as his troublesome son. This Is a Gardening Show (Netflix)
Peaceful, earnest and hilarious, this short-form six-episode series follows Zach Galifianakis on a journey to ditch his supermarket and grow his own food. The comic charms ordinary farmers, rambunctious kids and other guests who teach him — and us — about apple tree grafting, foraging and more, with silly nods to Galifianakis’ best roles. —EA
DTF St. Louis (HBO Max)
Many shows have the great combo of humor, heart and the occasional NSFW moment, but it’s hard to find one as winning as this middle-aged love triangle turned murder mystery. Jason Bateman as weatherman Clark, David Harbour as ASL interpreter Floyd and Linda Cardellini as Floyd’s umpire wife Carol add to its allure. —Andrea Towers
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (HBO Max)
The Game of Thrones universe delivers a poignant tale of what it means to be noble when fate links knight Dunk (Peter Claffey) with squire Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell), a young, disguised Targaryen prince. They’ll be memorialized forever in Westeros history, but legends pale compared to the truth of their unexpected bond. —Kelli Boyle
The Vampire Lestat (AMC+)
The former Interview With the Vampire has transformed into a beast, thanks in part to Sam Reid‘s unbridled take on Anne Rice’s titular vamp rocker. But the entire cast — Jacob Anderson, Eric Bogosian and Assad Zaman in particular — have used the tonal shift from goth to glam to add shades to their characters that are simply to die for. —Damian Holbrook
Dutton Ranch (Paramount+)
Yellowstone fan favorites Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler (Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser), along with adopted teen son Carter (Finn Little), relocate to a humbler spread in Texas in this spinoff of Taylor Sheridan‘s neo-Western. Beth butts heads with another powerful ranch’s rich matriarch (Annette Bening), whose dysfunctional family is reminiscent of the Duttons, and befriends a local vet (Ed Harris). Beth and Rip just want a clean start, but inevitably, they get pulled into a crime operation that has them fighting for survival. —Kate Hahn
The Other Bennet Sister (BritBox)
“What can you do if you’re the odd one out?” says lovable Miss Mary Bennet (smart and sensitive Ella Bruccoleri) about her predicament in Sarah Quintrell’s delightful drama about the neglected sister in Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride and Prejudice. It’s a joy to see Mary grow to know and love her unique self, thanks to her aunt’s (Indira Varma) encouragement, and then choose between two suitors, lawyer/poetry lover Tom Hayward (Donál Finn) and charming iconoclast William Ryder (Laurie Davidson). —KH
Legends (Netflix)
Britain’s war on drugs reached a bizarre but seemingly necessary turning point during the early 1990s. Faced with an underfunded customs agency, the country’s officials recruited ordinary clerical workers and security agents to infiltrate dangerous drug gangs. Steve Coogan stars in this gripping truth-based six-episode drama. —Erin Maxwell
