Mandy Moore's 7 Best TV Roles Before 'This Is Us' (PHOTOS)
Entourage (2005) as Mandy Moore
Moore appeared in the HBO hit during its second season, playing Vince’s (Adrian Grenier) ex-girlfriend, a fictional version of herself. The two rekindled their flame after being cast in Aquaman
together. Her intro episode was even named, very appropriately, “Oh, Mandy.”
Scrubs (2006) as Julie Quinn
In Season 6, Moore appeared alongside then-boyfriend Zach Braff in the comedy series, starring as his character J.D.’s new love interest. Her two-episode run as Julie ended in a breakup with J.D, just as her real-life breakup with Braff was happening.
The Simpsons (2006) as Tabitha Vixx
Moore took her first step into the animation world as Tabitha Vixx, a character whose flirtatious behavior with Homer caused trouble in her marriage to Buck (Hank Azaria).
How I Met Your Mother (2007) as Amy
Moore’s role as Amy in the Season 3 premiere had fans laughing as she hooked up with Ted (Josh Radnor) and drunkenly convinced him to get a tattoo. Her short guest role did result in a long-term storyline—Ted meeting girlfriend Stella (Sarah Chalke).
Grey’s Anatomy (2010) as Mary Portman
After a three-year television reprieve, Moore returned with a bang—literally. As Seattle Grace patient Mary Portman, she found herself in the midst of chaos as a deranged gunman terrorized the hospital. Mary survived the shooting, but she died several episodes later after her surgery went awry, devastating Dr. Bailey as well as the fans.
Christmas in Conway (2013) as Natalie Springer
The Hallmark Hall of Fame TV movie starred Moore as Natalie Spring, a live-in hospice nurse for terminally ill Suzy Mayor (Mary-Louise Parker).
Red Band Society (2014-2015) as Dr. Erin Grace
Moore appeared in five episodes of the short-lived Fox medical drama, playing Dr. Erin Grace, a doctor who returns to the hospital to confront ex-fiancé Dr. McAndrew (Dave Annable).
For two hit seasons, Mandy Moore has brought This Is Us fans to tears with her remarkable portrayal of Pearson family matriarch Rebecca. In 2017, the part even landed her a Golden Globe nomination.
But the NBC family drama isn’t Moore’s first foray into television—the singer-actress has graced our screens for many years. And to celebrate her birthday on April 10, we’re looking back at some of those roles.
