6. Kel Mitchell

Kel and his partner, Witney Carson, only ended up with 16 out of 30 points for their premiere performance, but they showed improvement in Week 2 with 20 points, bringing them to a cumulative 36 points. There’s a chance the Good Burger star could go very far in this competition. Not only does he have natural rhythm, but he has a great personality and will more than likely improve each week. Plus, Witney is a fan-favorite pro!

5. Ally Brooke

Ally Brooke was severely underscored during the first episode (16 out of 30, what were you thinking, judges?!), but she came back in Week 2 with a routine nabbing her 20 points, bringing her to a cumulative 36. It’s clear she has dance experience — duh, she was in Fifth Harmony — and she also has the fan support to take her far.

4. Lauren Alaina

If there’s one thing fans learned from Bobby Bones’s surprise win last season, it’s to never doubt the power of country music fandom. Lauren Alaina clearly has dance talent and did very well with her first routine (19 points) and second dance (19 more points), but the singer will also have thousands of fans supporting her each and every week.

3. Karamo Brown

Much like Ally, Karamo’s scores were way too low in the premiere (17 points) but he stepped it up in the second episode with 19 points. The Queer Eye star has such an incredible personality and natural dance skills, there’s no question he’ll continue to do well this season.

2. Hannah Brown

There’s nothing fans love more than a comeback story, and Hannah is the ultimate comeback queen. Viewers will want to see Hannah get a win after breaking up with ex-fiancé Jed, and the good news is that she has the dance skills to back it up (a cumulative 44 points already from the first two episodes!). We’d be shocked if she didn’t at least make it to the Top 3.

1. James Van Der Beek

The contestant who has the best chance at winning the Mirrorball Trophy is definitely James. The former Dawson’s Creek star is charming, he’s got a great dance partner in Emma Slater, and he also has the moves. He ended the first week on the top of the leaderboard (21 points) and stayed solid in the second week with 20 points. He certainly has what it takes to win the whole dang show.
