The Wonder Years

“Christmas” (Season 2, Episode 3)

Nostalgia never felt as cozy as in this 1988 treat that features young teen Kevin (Fred Savage, above) scrambling to find the perfect gift for the perfect girl: his neighbor and longtime crush, the one and only Winnie Cooper (Danica McKellar). The main problem is that one of them may not be home for the holidays after all!

“‘Twas the Nightmare Before Christmas” (Season 2, Episode 11)

Blanche’s (Rue McClanahan) lust for men in Santa costumes is the second naughtiest thing about the 1986 episode, in which a disturbed man dressed as Saint Nick holds the Miami roomies hostage. It sounds grim, but trust us, these Girls know how to crack us up even in a crisis.

The Brady Bunch

“The Voice of Christmas” (Season 1, Episode 12)

When Carol (Florence Henderson) comes down with laryngitis days before her big church solo on Christmas — the Bradys’ first Yuletide season together as a blended family — Cindy (Susan Olsen, above) asks a department-store Santa to restore her mom’s voice. This was in 1969, and 50 years later, we still tear up at the ending.

“The Alan Brady Show Presents” (Season 3, Episode 13)

Forget professional actors. The writing staff of The Alan Brady Show is hoodwinked into performing on the annual Christmas special, leading to a cavalcade of hilarious musical numbers featuring series stars Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore (above). Some of the numbers are surprisingly saucy for 1963!
