A TV series about Hollywood icon and acclaimed actress Audrey Hepburn is officially in the works.

The project, titled Audrey, isn’t currently attached to a network but is being helmed by U.S. writer and producer Jacqueline Hoyt (The Good Wife, The Leftovers). The show is being produced by Italy’s Fremantle company Wildside, the name behind titles like The Young Pope and My Brilliant Friend.

According to Variety, Hepburn’s formative years will be explored in the series inspired by work co-written by Hepburn’s son Luca Dotti and Italian journalist Luigi Spinola. Not many details about the show’s plot have been unveiled at this time, but it will be one of the first major projects to bring Hepburn’s life to the screen.

The actress is considered one of the most recognizable faces of the past century with memorable roles in films such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Roman Holiday, Sabrina, and My Fair Lady. Along with her impact on both film and fashion, Hepburn was also known as an exceptional humanitarian, lending her support to UNICEF.

With the series on the horizon, we can’t help but come up with a few dream casting options. Below, some of the actresses we think could be a good fit to portray the legend on TV.

It’s difficult to ignore the physical similarities between Hepburn and Emily in Paris star Lily Collins. Collins’ penchant for fashion is also a selling factor, drawing a deeper connection between herself and Hepburn.

Natalie Portman

Apart from looking a lot like Hepburn, Natalie Portman‘s experience with ballet for her role in the Oscar-winning Black Swan could serve her well. Hepburn had a background in ballet, which could pop up in the TV series in some form or another. Also, Portman has experience playing famous figures as she led the acclaimed drama Jackie in the role of Jackie Kennedy.

Emilia Clarke

She may have played the Mother of Dragons in Game of Thrones, but we have a feeling Emilia Clarke would conquer playing an iconic queen like Hepburn with ease. It would also be fun to see her trade in Daenerys’s fantasy digs for Hepburn’s couture wardrobe.

Keira Knightley

A period drama darling, Keira Knightley‘s resume speaks for itself, whether she’s playing Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice, donning 1940s-inspired ensembles for Atonement, or charming viewers in Love Actually. Her striking facial features resemble Hepburn just enough that her casting could work.

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway is a pop culture fixture herself and perhaps her years of playing Mia in The Princess Diaries is the right amount of kinship to connect her to the Roman Holiday star. While she may not look like the iconic performer, Hathaway has proven time and again she’s able to transform herself for the right role.

Rooney Mara

Best known for her roles in films like Carol and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Rooney Mara is an acting chameleon, making her an ideal candidate for a role like Hepburn. Her lookalike appearance doesn’t hurt either.
