MTV has announced the singles looking for love in its upcoming eighth season of the reality dating competition series, Are You the One?, and it’s a first for a show of its kind in the United States: an entirely sexually fluid cast.
The network announced Thursday that the new season, hosted by Terrence J, will premiere on Wednesday, June 26, at 9/8c. The format remains the same, as 16 singles go to Hawaii to try to find their “perfect match” and split the cash prize of $1 million. With all the singles identifying as sexually fluid, “there are no gender limitations” in finding their “perfect matches.”
Relationship expert Dr. Frankie joins for Season 8 to help the singles become better daters and navigate drama, poor choices and reoccurring patterns in relationships. Dr. Frankie will also help them identify and test their willingness to fall into current disaster-dating trends, including ghosting, benching and stashing.
