Where Are Past ‘Alone’ Winners Now?
Step aside, World Cup — there’s a new international competition coming to TV. Alone is going global when the History reality series returns for Season 13 on Wednesday, June 17, at 9/8c, luring contestants from seven countries.
For this 13th season, titled Alone: World Championship, survivalists from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Slovenia, Portugal, and New Zealand will battle the elements inside the Arctic Circle. Whoever outlasts their competition will earn the $500,000 grand prize and the first-ever Alone world champion title.
“This is survival on an international stage, where reputation, legacy, and national pride are on the line,” History says in a press release.

Alan Kay (Season 1)
Kay appears to be inactive on social media, but he appeared in recent survival tutorials on the YouTube channel Survival Dispatch. Plus, one Reddit fan spotted him in an ad for LuminAID solar lanterns.
David McIntyre (Season 2)
McIntyre died unexpectedly on November 22, 2024, at the age of 59, according to an online obituary. After Alone, he worked as the global director of Set Free Ministries in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Zachary Fowler (Season 3)
Following his Alone win, Fowler became a full-time content creator and the owner of a company called Fowler’s Makery and Mischief. His goal is to help people enjoy their own outdoor adventures, according to the company’s website.
Jim and Ted Baird (Season 4)
Both Baird brothers are active on YouTube. On his channel, Jim recently shared videos about snowmobiling 500 kilometers and camping in a snow cave with his young son. And on his channel, Ted documented surviving arctic wilderness and rafting through the Grand Canyon.
Sam Larson (Season 5)
On his Instagram account, Larson says he’s the pastor at Redemption Hill Bible Church in Hickman, Nebraska. He’s also a family man, as the husband of Sydney and the father of Alaska, Everest, and Wren.
Jordan Jonas (Season 6)
Jonas’ personal website shows he’s working as a guide for private expeditions and game hunts in the Idaho wilderness. He also designs axes incorporating Slavic and Evenki design attributes and his own personal tweaks.
Roland Welker (Season 7)
In his Instagram bio, Welker says he’s a big game hunter in Alaska, as well as a trapper, logger, gold miner, hide tanner, frontiersman, and pioneer. He sells “Roland the Savage” apparel on his website, as well as the book The Last Bushman on the Mid-Kuskokwim: The Adventures of Roland Welker of Red Devil, Alaska by Richard Hughes.
Clay Hayes (Season 8)
Like many of his fellow Alone winners, Hayes has become a creator on YouTube, where he showcases “the best traditional archery, bow building, recurve bow hunting, bushcraft, and survival skills videos on the web.” He and his family hunt, fish, and maintain a homestead in Idaho, his YouTube bio tells us.
Juan Pablo Quiñonez (Season 9)
Quiñonez is a writer aiming to “bridge ancestral and Indigenous perspectives, psychology, spirituality, resilience, systems thinking, science, and deep ecology.” His latest book, Collapse: Navigating Civilization’s Predicaments With Wisdom and Courage, hit bookstores in April.
Alan Tenta (Season 10)
Tenta is a public speaker and a “passionate advocate for resilience and outdoor learning,” his website touts. He runs the YouTube channel Tenta Outdoors, which focuses on “bushcraft, archery, fishing, adventure motorcycling, and other outdoor pursuits.”
William Larkham Jr. (Season 11)
On his Bigland Trapper YouTube channel, Larkham shares videos about hunting, fishing, sealing, trapping, and other outdoorsy activities in the Labrador region of Canada. “Also going to include some traditional skills along with cooking, self-reliance, and dabble[s] into a little bushcraft,” he adds in the channel description.
Nathan Olsen (Season 12)
Olsen is still the CEO of BestNotes — a company providing electronic health record software to support therapy, behavioral health, and addiction treatment providers — according to his LinkedIn profile. He also does work with the Anasazi Foundation, an outdoor therapeutic program his father co-founded.
