Will Max ever face justice for his crimes?

Throughout Season 2, Max is on trial for multiple sexual assaults, with Pip determined to expose him. Several victims come forward, and Pip even obtains a recording in which Max all but confesses. A key piece of the case is Jamie’s testimony, but his disappearance prevents him from taking the stand.

As pressure mounts, Max threatens witnesses, manipulates those around him, creates a fake alibi, and gets Ravi (Zain Iqbal) fired. Despite the evidence against him, he is found not guilty.

The verdict devastates Pip, who struggles to accept that someone like Max can walk free. In retaliation, she releases the recording of Max threatening her. It is payback, but not justice. The question remains: Will Max ever be held accountable for his crimes?

Will Max's mother make the right decision?

One of Season 2’s most jarring moments comes when Max’s mother (Annabel Mullion) realizes he is guilty. After discovering hidden pills tied to the assaults, she confronts him and tells him he has become her “worst nightmare.” Max responds by threatening his own mother.

The season ends with Mrs. Hastings looking weary and haunted by the family she helped create, raising the question of whether she feels any guilt for turning a blind eye to Max’s sins.
