MTV Announces 14 New Shows—Including A Documentary Series From Zac Efron
MTV is looking to put the music back in Music Television.

The network announced on Thursday that it has ordered at least four music-centric shows including a newly re-imagined version of MTV Unplugged, a weekly music series titled Wonderland which features live performances from three different acts and an as-of-yet untitled reality singing competition from The Voice and Survivor creator Mark Burnett. The network has will also be partnering up with Scooter Braun Films to pair up a famous artist and a mystery talent to create a new song in 24 hours. The project is titled Studio 24.

Among the 14 shows and specials the network has ordered is an untitled documentary special from Zac Efron in which the actor—who will serve as executive producer and host—will draw on his travel experience and love of food to “explore the ever-expanding role of food and the culinary arts in Millennial culture,” including the “issues and and experiences surrounding what we find on our plates.”

Also in development is a weekly half-hour comedy talk show executive produced by recent MTV Movie Awards host Dwayne Johnson (AKA “The Rock”) currently titled Greatest Movie Show of All Time, This Week which the network says will celebrate the latest movie news and trends through “interviews, sketches, and panel discussion.”
