The 61st Annual Grammy Awards was a non-stop music machine during its February 10 broadcast, which featured songstress and musical powerhouse Alicia Keys as host.

Instead of returning to previous hosts like James Corden or LL Cool J, CBS unveiled Keys as the night’s emcee back in January spurring speculation about how she would handle the position. So how did she do?

First off, Keys helped to orchestrate a number of surprises throughout the evening, starting strong with Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett Smith, Michelle Obama, and Jennifer Lopez joining her on stage to talk about the ways music has influenced their lives.

Among some of her more memorable moments included a story about a year at the Grammys Awards in which Keys really thought she’d win Song of the Year but John Mayer took home the trophy for “Daughters.” However, she then revealed that Mayer shared the award with her by breaking his trophy in half, and the two artists then reunited on stage to put the pieces together.

But Keys’ best moment of the night had to be when she played two pianos at once, singing various tunes from “Killing Me Softly” to “Use Somebody” to “In My Feelings” and “Empire State of Mind.”

So at the end of the day, was it enough to solidify her place in Grammy hosting history? Let us know in the poll below.
