Cameron Crowe’s ‘Roadies’ Gets an Airdate; Here’s a First Look (VIDEO)
Showtime’s new Cameron Crowe comedy series Roadies kicks off this summer.
The premium cable network confirms that Roadies will premiere Sunday, June 26 at 10/9c.
The show–Crowe’s first TV series–chronicles a life on the road during a rock group’s tour, as seen via the world of backstage workers. Per Showtime, Roadies “gives an insider’s look at the reckless, romantic, funny and often poignant lives of a committed group of ‘roadies’ who live for music and the de facto family they’ve formed along the way. The series chronicles the rock world through the eyes of music’s unsung heroes and pays homage to the backstage workers who put the show on the road while touring the United States for the successful arena-level group, The Staton-House Band.”
Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino, Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Peter Cambor, Colson Baker (a.k.a. Machine Gun Kelly) and Ron White star, while Luis Guzman, Jacqueline Byers, Finesse Mitchell, Branscombe Richmond and Tanc Sade guest star.
Roadies also comes from writer/executive producer Winnie Holzman (My So-Called Life, Wicked), along with J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk and Len Goldstein. Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis is a producer and music supervisor.
