Jose Altuve and the defending World Series champion Houston Astros will take on the Texas Rangers as part of ESPN's MLB Opening Day schedule

The annual rite of spring is here, as the first pitch of the 2018 Major League Baseball regular season will be tossed on Thursday, March 29. And for the first time since 1968, every MLB team begins their season on the same day.

ESPN's Opening Day schedule on Thursday features the Chicago Cubs at the Miami Marlins, the World Series champion Houston Astros at the Texas Rangers, the San Francisco Giants at the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Cleveland Indians at the Seattle Mariners. ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball starts its season on April 1 with the Giants at the Dodgers.

MLB Network's season-long live game coverage begins on Friday with a pair of regional games, and FS1 returns with its Saturday slate of games.
