Catching Monsters, “Bluefin Battle” (Friday, June 5, 10/9c, Discovery)

“Tuna” typically brings to mind the image of that weird bespectacled mascot that tries to sell us Starkist. The bluefin tunas being sought tonight decidedly do not conform to that stereotype. They’re big, fierce fish: They can grow up to nearly 1,000 pounds, and they do not go quietly. They’re also worth upwards of $30,000, which might be why they’re currently an endangered species.
