‘Today’s Craig Melvin Celebrates Daughter Sybil’s Milestone Birthday

The Today hosts and fans are feeling sentimental as Craig Melvin‘s daughter celebrates a major birthday.
During the NBC morning show’s Thursday, November 5, episode, Melvin took a moment out on the 30 Rockefeller Center Plaza to send a special birthday shout-out to his daughter, Sybil. “Before we do anything else, just a really quick moment here. I want to wish my beautiful daughter, Sybil Melvin; she is 10 years old today,” he said, prompting cheers from his cohosts and Today fans. “She brings so much light and love into our lives.”
Sheinelle Jones recalled, “Gosh. We remember when she was born.” Carson Daly asked, “What are you guys doing to celebrate?” Melvin replied, “We’re going to one of those hibachi restaurants.”
After the episode, Melvin took to Instagram to share a sweet tribute for his daughter. “Double digits! Happy birthday to our sweet girl!” he wrote alongside sweet family photos from over the years. “Watching you grow into the smart, funny, kind hearted girl you are has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Love you more than you’ll ever know!”
Fans flooded the post’s comments with their own birthday messages for Sybil. “Double digits is such a milestone!!” one user wrote. Another said, “This is my favorite one Craig. Your family is amazing and Happy Birthday to your sweet daughter.”

Someone else shared, “Happy Birthday sweetie!! We share the same day!!” A different person posted, “Happy double digit birthday from Vermont sweetie! Enjoy!” A separate person posted, “Nice picture of you all happy birthday to you.”
Melvin tied the knot with his wife, Lindsay Czarniak, in 2011. The couple became parents with the birth of their son, Delano, in 2014, followed by Sybil in 2016.
Sybil’s birthday is the latest of several special moments Melvin has recently celebrated with his family. On Monday, November 2, Melvin paid tribute to his dog, Myles, on Instagram for his 3rd birthday.
“Myles Melvin is 3! Happy birthday to the best boy there is,” the Today anchor captioned adorable pics of his pet. “He’ll be spending his birthday right where he belongs, on the couch.”
On Sunday, November 1, Melvin posted a pic of his family’s 2026 Halloween costumes. “No more complete family costumes like good old days but two kangaroos, a bumblebee, and a history maker aren’t bad,” he captioned the Instagram group photo. “Hope yours was a happy Halloween too.”
Last month, Melvin commemorated his and Czarniak’s wedding anniversary with a heartfelt Instagram tribute. “15 years married to my best friend. Lindsay, you’re the rock of our family,” he wrote alongside throwback snaps from their nuptials. “You’re the one who keeps us all grounded and the glue that holds it all together. Happy Anniversary.”
