Simon Cowell Resurfaces in New Family Photos 2 Months After Surgery

Simon Cowell has been keeping a low profile since he had back surgery at the end of August, but he popped up on social media in a new post from his wife, Lauren Silverman, on November 1. Silverman shared a series of photos from an October beach day with Cowell, their son, Eric, and her older son, Adam Silverman.

“Scenes from a dream. October half term edition,” she captioned the post. “Sometimes a photo just can’t capture how a moment feels. The sea, the sunshine, nature, and being surrounded by the people and dogs I love most and having nowhere else I need to be. All I can really say is that my heart is full. Feeling incredibly grateful, happy and at peace with life right now.”

On August 23, TMZ reported that Cowell would be missing an unspecified number of Live Shows for Season 21 of America’s Got Talent because he was having routine back surgery. Cowell has been dealing with back issues since a 2020 e-bike accident, which required a six-hour surgery and left him with metal rods and screws in his spine.

Although it was initially expected that he’d return to AGT after a few weeks, he was absent for the remainder of the 2026 Live Shows, including the September 22 and September 23 finale. Amid his month-long absence, no updates on his condition were given, although host Terry Crews did read a message from Cowell during Part 1 of the finale on September 22.

“I want to wish all the finalists tonight the best of luck,” Cowell said in his note. “I am so sad I won’t be there in person, but I will be watching from home.”

His fellow Season 21 judges Howie Mandel, Mel B., and Sofia Vergara were joined by a rotating panel of guest judges amid Cowell’s absence. Kenan Thompson, Heidi Klum, and KSI stepped in to fill his seat. No updates on his health or the status of his recovery have been provided.
