‘Boston Blue’ Sneak Peek: Sarah Gets Terrible News

Maggie Lawson as Sarah Silver in 'Boston Blue' Season 2 Episode 4

The case that defined Sarah Silver’s (Maggie Lawson) career comes back and threatens to change everything in the next episode of Boston Blue Season 2. In the exclusive clip from the episode above, Mae Silver (Gloria Reuben), tells Sarah the bad news that a convicted rapist she put away years prior is arguing that he was never guilty, despite his previous guilty plea.

Boston Blue Season 2 Episode 4, “Everything Right Can Still Be Wrong,” airs tonight (Friday, October 30), on CBS. Outside of Sarah’s troubling resurged case, it features an aquatic mystery for Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green).

Here’s the logline for the episode: “When human remains are discovered inside a great white shark, Danny and Lena find themselves hunting a killer. Meanwhile, Sarah reopens a troubling case from her past and Sean and Jonah get caught in the middle of a neighborhood feud.”

In the scene above, Mae tells Sarah that an imprisoned man serving time for the rape of a woman years prior is up for parole, which “was offered then withdrawn.”

“Cooper refuses to take responsibility. He says he’s innocent,” Mae tells her.

“He pled guilty before trial,” Sarah says, confused.

“Not exactly. They offered him a chance to go home if he had just readmit his guilt. He said no,” Mae replies.

“That doesn’t make any sense,” Sarah tells her stepmom. When Mae says her office has to interview the man because of this, Sarah says she wants to be there for it.

“It was my case,” she tells Mae. “If he says he didn’t do it, I need to look him in the eye.”

Sarah is one of Boston’s youngest police superintendents ever, and this case is part of what helped skyrocket her career’s upward movement. Could she have built her reputation on imprisoning the wrong guy?

Boston Blue, Fridays, 10/9c, CBS
