More ‘Teen Wolf’? Tyler Posey Shares Update & What He’d Like to Explore Next
Exclusive
What To Know
- Tyler Posey played Scott McCall for six seasons and a movie of Teen Wolf.
- He addresses the possibility of reprising the role in some way.
For six seasons, Tyler Posey played Scott McCall on Teen Wolf. Then, six years after the MTV series ended, he reprised that role, along with others from the series’ cast, in a movie for Paramount+. And so when TV Insider spoke with Posey about his latest role, an NSA agent on Line of Fire, we had to ask about the possibility of getting more Teen Wolf.
“Always. [There’s] always a possibility,” he told us. “Yeah, I’m working on — I’ve got ideas. Everyone else is excited for them. We just got to get the network involved.”
As for what we’d want to explore with Scott, “just more adult themes,” he shared. “I think the fans grew up with Teen Wolf and they were teens themselves. This was 15 years ago, so they’ve got to be in their 30s, some of them at least. And so I want to honor that and pay homage to where they’re at now in their lives.”

The 2023 movie saw Scott reunite with a resurrected Allison (Crystal Reed) and, once she had her memories back and after Derek’s (Tyler Hoechlin) sacrifice, the two took in the other werewolf’s son, Eli (Vince Mattis).
When we spoke with creator Jeff Davis at the time, he’d said that the chances of another movie or series “depend[ed] on how this one does. As popular as it is among the fans, it still comes down to numbers and subscriber numbers and things like that. So if the bottom line looks good enough, then most likely, yeah.”
When it came to the ideas he had about a continuation, “the movie and the show are called Teen Wolf, so I like the idea of passing the baton, and Vince is such a great kid, and I fell in love with the character as I was writing it and seeing Vince bring it to life on screen was a joy,” he said. “So I would say the next iteration would probably have to be set around him.”
