What To Know

  • The two-part of final for The Challenge Season 42 almost saw one veteran player get medically disqualified.
  • After Chris “C.T.” Tamburello expressed “disappointment” in his team for their treatment of him in the final, his captain, Tori Deal, offered an apology.

Chris “C.T.” Tamburello isn’t taking the criticism about his performance in The Challenge Season 42’s final race lying down. The multi-season champion, who has been a regular part of the show since 2004, has officially responded to what played out in the first half of the two-part finale this week — particularly the way Team Orange’s captain, Tori Deal, reacted to him gassing out during the hiking portion of the competition.

C.T. posted a video argument from a fan, posing as C.T.’s lawyer, in which the fan detailed all of the reasons why C.T. was mistreated during the final, particularly by Tori forcing him to carry one of the bricks across the precipice instead of resting up to focus on puzzles, which are his specialty in the games, and he challenged the inevitable comparisons between C.T.’s performance in this final and that of Eric “Big Easy” Banks in Gauntlet III.

In the comments to the video, C.T. also shared his own words on the subject, writing, “FTR it would have been a liability for production if they didn’t give me a medical evaluation after my own team “called 911”. The medics concluded that my vitals were not redlining. If I had quit…. The whole team would have forfeited. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed by Orange. SMH.”

As viewers will know, C.T. was taken out of the games, temporarily, by medics after he began to vomit, and he was later returned to the competition after he passed a wellness check.

The fan in the video pointed out that, the whole time, C.T. was vocally concerned about how his medical break would affect the team, whereas others were more concerned about themselves.

In response to the posting, Tori then attempted to make amends with her teammate, writing in the comments, “Im sorry for being so insensitive and harsh CT. The only thing I was thinking about was winning. It was tunnel visioned and not compassionate at all.”

Tori wasn’t the only other Challenge star to weigh in on the video. Trishelle Cannatella, with whom C.T. won The Traitors, also wrote in response, “I didn’t watch and idk what happened but whatever it is, they are lying and you are perfect… love you brother.” And Paulie Calafiore reacted with, “Bro calling in my cousin Vinny and his legal team… This is great hahaha.”
