Melissa Gilbert just sent a direct message to Megyn Kelly‘s public Christina Applegate attack.
On Friday, October 23, the Little House on the Prairie star, 62, took to Instagram with a lengthy response for the former Fox News host. The move came after Kelly, 55, publicly criticized Applegate, 54, in an October 20 episode of The Megyn Kelly Show — on the same day the Married … With Children actress revealed she had been misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).
“Hey Megyn, got a minute?” Gilbert wrote in the featured image of her Instagram update.
In her lengthy caption, the When Calls the Heart actress continued, “At the risk of you using your platform to lash out at ME now..AGAIN …I just want to ask that you think about one thing. What if you found yourself suffering from some horrible disease? And that disease was diagnosed. And that diagnosis was devastating, but you chose to live your life, fight, bring attention to that disease, and advocate for others with that disease. Only to find out, YEARS later, that the diagnosis was wrong. Now you are back at square one. Still battling the same debilitating, horrible symptoms while now having to put your body through a myriad of new, painful tests to figure out why you are so horribly sick.”

Gilbert then asked Kelly to imagine what that might feel like, or how she would feel if it happened to a loved one.
“I just sometimes wish that maybe you’d take a moment to dig deep in your soul and find a modicum of empathy before you speak,” she concluded. “Please feel free to go after me now. Actually, I’d prefer that than you attack someone who, along with those who love her, are truly suffering.”
On October 20, Kelly slammed Applegate on the same day the Bad Moms actress announced that five years after her diagnosis, her doctor told her she does not have MS.
“I’m sorry, but like the woman who’s made like every public statement about health for the past several years all about her MS, she’s hosting an MS podcast, has now come out to tell us all she doesn’t actually have it,” Kelly said. “She has no idea what she actually has, and I just think this is like the problem with celebrities, wanting to lean into their health problems, and ‘now I will be the face of MS.'”
Additionally, Kelly has repeatedly criticized Gilbert through the years — most recently when she slammed the LHOTP actress for her PSA about child stars amid Gilbert’s husband Timothy Busfield‘s child sexual assault allegations, which have since been dropped.

Clearly this woman is fortunate to have never been terminally ill. Christina is not upset about NOT having MS she is mourning a diagnosis, an answer to what IS wrong with her. The now what? I understand her completely. At least with a diagnosis you can give people a concrete answer if they ask you whats wrong with you, right now I have about 20 diagnosis to choose from...take your pick! That is likely the same for her, its like a snowball at the top of a hill
