It only took about 35 years, but The Simpsons has finally gotten around to parodying The Nightmare Before Christmas, and it’s a match made in Halloween heaven.

The fun tribute to Tim Burton‘s holiday mashup classic will open the upcoming “Treehouse of Horror XXXVII,” giving fans a little Halloween nostalgia with a distinctly Springfield twist. Set to a Springfield-inspired version of “This Is Halloween,” with the residents singing “Simpsons Halloween,” the stop-motion special brings Burton’s spooky world to life in all its stop-motion glory.

Bart (Nancy Cartwright) takes on the role of Jack Skellington, with Marge (Julie Kavner) as Sally, Homer (Dan Castellaneta) as the Mayor of Halloween Town, Ned Flanders (Harry Shearer) as Oogie Boogie, Santa’s Little Helper as Zero, and Sideshow Bob as the Cyclops, and Barney as Behemoth. Lisa (Yeardley Smith) also gets in on the fun as a witch, reminding viewers in song that the show’s “Halloween episodes are not canon.”

The musical mashup is especially fitting considering Danny Elfman composed both The Simpsons theme song and the music for The Nightmare Before Christmas. With Elfman responsible for the tunes behind both iconic IPs, the two have plenty of musical DNA in common.

Bringing the parody to life is Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, the stop-motion animation studio best known for Robot Chicken, which has spent nearly two decades gleefully skewering pop culture. Founded in 2011 by Seth Green, Matthew Senreich, John Harvatine IV, and Eric Towner, the studio is no stranger to turning beloved characters into hilariously twisted versions of themselves.

Animator Jim McKenzie shared his sculpted creations on YouTube, with the caption: “Sculpting characters for The Simpsons‘ upcoming ‘Treehouse of Horror XXXVII’ Nightmare Before Christmas stop motion opening! I can’t explain how excited I am for this. Photography by @harvatine. Animated at @stoopidbuddystoodios.”
