What To Know

  • Todd and Julie Chrisley face a new $1.5 million federal tax lien for unpaid taxes from 2021 and 2022.
  • The reality star couple were previously convicted of bank and tax fraud in 2022.
  • In May 2025, the pair received full pardons from President Donald Trump.

Reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley are once again in trouble with the Internal Revenue Service after failing to pay more than $1.5 million in federal taxes, according to a new tax lien filed against the couple.

According to records obtained by Page Six, the IRS filed the $1,571,452 federal tax lien in Davidson County, Tennessee, on August 19, 2026. The lien lists two separate unpaid tax assessments, the first for $142,410.72 for the tax period ending December 31, 2021, and the second for $1,429,041.89 for the period ending December 31, 2022.

Todd and Julie were convicted of bank and tax fraud in 2022 and sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison. Todd served his time at the Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida, while Julie was locked up at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

They spent just over two years behind bars before President Donald Trump issued them full pardons on May 27, 2025. However, the newly filed tax lien lists separate unpaid federal tax assessments, per Page Six, that Trump’s pardon did not cover.

Since their release from prison, Todd and Julie starred in the Lifetime reality series The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, alongside their daughter, Savannah Chrisley, and launched their own podcast, Chrisley Confessions 2.0.

The couple has continued to face questions about their financial situation since returning home. In an interview with ABC News’ Juju Chang for Nightline last September, Todd dismissed the notion that his family was “broke” now.

“Where would you get that? Do you know how much is in my bank account?” Todd asked Chang.

“No. Would you like to tell me?” Chang asked in response.

Todd didn’t reveal any specific numbers, but added, “But it’s not what you just referenced.”

Savannah also defended her parents, saying, “But I think it’s like everyone else, like you guys got out and you immediately started working. You’re building your life back. And luckily, opportunities have come.”

“By the grace of God,” Todd replied.
