  • Clancy’s lawyer has accused Desronvil of being an “obstructionist” and requested an inquiry into his conduct.

The lone juror who voted to convict Lindsay Clancy has finally spoken out about why he refused to fall in line with 11 fellow jurors who voted to find Clancy not criminally responsible for murdering her three children.

Michael Desronvil spoke with Fox News’ Kayleigh McEnany in his first interview since Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial in the high-profile case in September. Clancy stood accused of strangling her three young children to death in January 2023. Her defense argued that she was legally insane at the time due to postpartum psychosis.

Desronvil, who described the deliberations as “tense,” said he had no reasonable doubt about Clancy’s guilt. He didn’t share what specifically convinced him, but noted that he thought Clancy was “methodical” in what he called the “execution” of her children.

“That was really big for me, you know, from watching the video and also listening in the courtroom,” he said, per the New York Post. “The thought process that goes behind… to fulfill the commitment of doing that.”

Desronvil claimed he had “a lot of evidence” to back up his claims, but “because out of respect of the other jurors and the court system, I will put that to sleep for now. Until, you know, they go through the process of, the court system.”

He described the emotion of seeing pictures of Clancy’s children, Cora (5), Dawson (3), and Callan (8 months). “I have a daughter myself that’s 5 years old,” he shared. “So seeing these three kids, it’s emotional. You can see the innocence, the pure joy in them. It’s hard to just take that away.”

Desronvil also said the 911 call Clancy’s husband, Patrick Clancy, made left a mark on him. “Hearing the pain in his voice, hearing the desperation from that clip — it was surreal,” he stated.

Clancy’s defense lawyer, Kevin Reddington, described Desronvil as an “obstructionist” and has called for an inquiry into him. Reddington asked Judge Sullivan to preserve juror records, questionnaires, courthouse surveillance footage, and Desronvil’s phone records between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm on each deliberation day.

Desronvil recently hired a Massachusetts-based attorney, which has led to a postponement of a hearing on this matter.
