What To Know

  • Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson were eliminated from Dancing With the Stars on October 13.
  • Immediately after, they appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and the late-night host expressed his outrage over the situation.
  • Rodriguez made it to Week 5 of the competition as a fan favorite, despite consistent low scores.

After five weeks of scoring at the bottom of the leaderboard, but making it through eliminations thanks to fan support, Guillermo Rodriguez‘s journey on Dancing With the Stars came to an end on October 13. He and partner Witney Carson were eliminated from the competition on Super Bowl Night.

Afterwards, they did a virtual interview with Rodriugez’s boss, Jimmy Kimmel, on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Kimmel called the results “a kick in the Mirrorballs,” referencing the Mirrorball trophy that the winner of DWTS gets.

“First of all, this is an outrage,” Kimmel insisted. “Will you accept the results or will you take legal action?” Rodriguez joked, “I think we should take legal action,” and Carson agreed, “Yeah, absolutely, I’m ready.”

Kimmel praised Carson’s choreography this season, telling the pregnant pro, “The situations you put Guillermo in? Really, really impressive. You have taken this lump of Play-Doh and sculpted him into a masterpiece.” He asked her what she’d miss most about training with the comedian, and she said, “I mean, everything. He is such a sweetheart. He is so beloved by everyone.”

Carson also joked that she won’t have to have a “weird custody battle” with Kimmel anymore. “You can have him now,” she told the late-night host. Kimmel quipped back, “I was thinking of just adopting you, too, and we can have a whole family here.”

He then asked Rodrigue if he “achieved what [he] set out to do,” and Rodriguez replied, “Jimmy, I said I was going to lose weight, and I did lose weight!” Kimmel responded, “You lost weight and you gained a pregnant friend. Again, thank you Witney for taking such good care of Guillermo throughout this. You have brought so much joy to so many and now we have nothing to look forward to ever again.”

He had to end the segment on a joke, of course, adding, “This better not be how it goes in the midterms, I’ll tell you that much.”
