Jimmy Kimmel is mourning the death of a Jimmy Kimmel Live! family member.

On Friday, October 9, the late-night host took to Instagram with a tribute to Rodney Muñoz, who died at 60 after working as a costume designer on the show for nearly three decades.

“Our dear friend and Costume Designer for almost 30 years, Rodney Muñoz, has sadly passed away,” Kimmel wrote. “Rodney was one of the most talented people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. He was a funny, surly, hard-working man whose tough exterior hid a huge and generous heart.”

He continued, “Rodney helped many of us through difficult times. He was a devoted son, brother, and Uncle; a great baker, and a caring friend. No man saw me in my underpants more.”

To conclude his tribute, Kimmel shared, “We will miss Rodney as he joins his beloved parents in whatever comes next.”

In the comments, fellow celebrities and fans alike joined Kimmel in mourning Muñoz’s death. Kelly Ripa wrote, “Oh no. Very sad news. Loved Rodney,” alongside a broken-heart emoji.

John Stamos shared, “So sorry Jim. A good guy indeed,” and Jennifer Aniston posted three broken-hearted emojis.
