What To Know

  • Konya Hendricks Schuh, with the support of her family, leads high-risk renovation projects in Beloit, Wisconsin.
  • The team tackles both unsold and new properties, including major projects on Church Street, Emerson Street, and Beloit College’s “Art House.”
  • The season culminates with challenging work on the Park Avenue property and a family trip to the Indy 500.

Konya Hendricks Schuh has been on a mission to revive one Wisconsin city near and dear to her heart through a multitude of projects as documented on Betting on Beloit. During Season 2 of the A&E series, the real estate agent continued these efforts with the support of her mother Diane Hendricks. Someone who knows what it takes to be successful as a self-made billionaire. Her wholesale construction supplier business was also born right in Beloit.

This grand endeavor has truly been a family affair beyond the mother-daughter duo. Hendricks Schuh’s husband Matt puts his skills as a plumbing contractor and former home builder to use. Rounding out the crew is good friend and project manager Pete, and her realtor nephew Connor, as well as designer friends Kristin and Mitch.

The pressure was on to bring new residents to the area through these renovation projects and get properties sold to recoup on the high-risk investments. For Hendricks Schuh, the hard work and stress that comes with meeting deadlines and staying under budgets is all worth it knowing the once vibrant community would get some of its shine back.

So far over the course of the season the team dealt with moving unsold property from the past year while also juggling new ones. Among those listings included high-budget projects on Church Street and Emerson Street, as well as Beloit College’s “Art house.” Along with the usual builds, the crew also worked with Acts Housing to help first-time homebuyers.

It all leads to the final two episodes airing back-to-back on October 10. Hendricks Schuh and her construction squad begin the demolition and design for the new Park Avenue property. This project has proven to be more costly than expected.

In the midst of all the activity, they take a much-needed detour. The team attends the Indy 500 race, an event that means so much to the Hendricks family. The exclusive clip shared by the network sees them in patriotic gear arriving at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway where Hendricks Commercial Properties have sponsored a car over the years.

Hendricks Schuh embraces driver and company partner A.J. Foyt, four-time Indy 500 winner, as well as saying hello to the driver Santino Ferrucci for their sponsored car. The family kisses the brick near the road for good luck. “This is our year,” Hendricks Schuh declared, optimistically. When the engines get started, we cut to where there are only 10 laps to go with the hope the sponsored car still has a chance to win. The race is not only on the track, but on the construction site. Will they reach the finish line on both fronts? We’ll have to watch to find out.
