The Vampire Diaries star Steven R. McQueen is receiving an outpouring of support from fans and former costars after his appearance at the Forever Mystic Falls Fan Meet 7 in Paris on October 3 and 4 sparked online chatter about his changing looks.

The actor, who played Jeremy Gilbert for six seasons, reunited with his former costars Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham, and Riley Voelkel, marking one of his first major public appearances in years. McQueen, who has largely stepped away from Hollywood since his last onscreen role in 2020, sparked online discussion after photos and videos from the convention circulated on social media.

While many fans celebrated his return, others made unkind comments about his altered appearance on social media, prompting supporters to come to his defense. Now, McQueen is back on social media himself, and fans are making sure he feels the love.

The 38-year-old actor shared a selfie on Instagram, his first post since 2021, with the caption, “Back to the gym. Any music suggestions?”

The post quickly received an outpouring of encouragement from fans and fellow celebrities. Twilight star Taylor Lautner commented, “My man! Let’s go!” while Pretty Little Liars star Keegan Allen wrote, “Let’s go, Dude! If you ever need a workout partner, I got you!” McQueen’s former Vampire Diaries costar Matthew Davis chimed in with, “Love ya dude!”

McQueen starred as Elena Gilbert’s (Nina Dobrev) younger brother, Jeremy, on The Vampire Diaries from 2009 to 2015, returning briefly in 2017. He also reprised the role in the spinoff series Legacies in 2018.

Although he has largely remained out of the spotlight in recent years, his return to the convention circuit has given longtime fans a chance to reconnect with the former Mystic Falls resident.
