Rock the Block is heading to a new city with a brand new cast of stars for Season 8.

HGTV officially announced that the home renovation series will return for its eighth outing in early 2027. The new episodes, set in Nashville, Tennessee, will feature previous contestants, along with some familiar HGTV faces making their Rock the Block debut.

After competing against each other on the show’s seventh season, Mina Starsiak Hawk and Scott McGillivray will team up for Season 8, while Season 2 winners Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt will once again have their eyes on the prize. Sabrina Soto and Anthony Carrino will both hit the block for the first time as teammates. Meanwhile, former Trading Spaces co-stars Paige Davis and Carter Oosterhouse will join forces to win the competition.

Following the casting news, fans went online to share their thoughts on Rock the Block‘s Season 8 lineup. “Paige Davis and Carter Oosterhouse? My Trading Spaces heart is thrilled to see this pairing,” one person wrote on Reddit, to which another user replied, “I’m the most excited by this pairing.” Someone else pointed out that Rock the Block host Ty Pennington was also on Trading Spaces, making for an even bigger reunion.

“Very interesting but I think it will be fun. I have no clue who Anthony Carrino is though,” a different Reddit user noted, referring to the Kitchen Cousins star.

A separate commenter stated, “I feel a little embarrassed for Mina. Hasn’t she lost/finished in the bottom multiple times?” Starsiak Hawk competed on Seasons 1 and 7 of the series, having lost both times.

In response, one user wrote, “I think Scott will bring out the best in her and he doesn’t have to tame any impulse for bling or whatever like he did last season. I think they have compatible enough styles.” Another agreed, adding, “I think Scott does have a little flare and he might bring out more ‘design’ in Mina because he knows how to get things done while still being cost-effective which seems to me to be what Mina is mostly about.”

One user said they were happy that the Season 8 casting is a return to form, as Season 7 shook things up by pairing HGTV stars with celebrities who had renovation and design experience. “Yay no ‘celebrities.’ Didn’t care for that twist one bit,” they posted.

Over on Instagram, one commenter wrote, “I love all these people but BRING NEW FACES, Brian and Mika? Mina again??? She’s like the new Alison Victoria. I do like the new Teams…straight from the 90s House.” Another said, “How can Brian and Mika do it again? They won. Shouldn’t someone else have a chance? No hate, I love them! Just wondering?”

A different person posted, “So glad to see Paige and Sabrina! The OGs. This will be a hard one. Love them all.” A separate user stated, “Yes, one of the cousins Anthony from Kitchen cousins on show. I can’t wait to watch.” Another said, “THIS is going to be the best season ever! The chemistry that everyone of these teams have with each other is amazing – Just enough competitiveness without arrogance – all authentic making good tv.”
