‘Big Brother’ Renewed for Seasons 29 & 30 at CBS
Always expect the unexpected when it comes to Big Brother. At the end of the Season 28 finale, Julie Chen Moonves shared some hot renewal news — the CBS show is coming back for Seasons 29 and 30.
After Rick Devens made history as not only the first Survivor player to win Big Brother, but also the highest winner of all time, Chen Moonves announced him as America’s Favorite Houseguest, and she opened another envelope to reveal that the hit reality show has been renewed for two more seasons.
Season 28 was also historic because the show celebrated its 1,000th episode. Big Brother became the first primetime show and the first reality/competition show to hit this milestone, cementing them into the Guinness Book of World Records. They also had the most programming hours ever with 52+ hours, due to 90-minute Wednesday episodes, two-hour episodes thrown in, and Big Brother: Unlocked.
According to a press release, this season was watched for 14.8 billion minutes, which was up nine percent from last summer. The show also averaged 5.1 million viewers in seven-day multiplatform viewing.
Here is everything we know about the next two seasons.
