What To Know
- Peacock has greenlit its first live-action Fast & Furious TV series
- Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman will act as coshowrunners and Vin Diesel will serve as executive producer.
- The untitled series will coincide with the release of the franchise’s final film.
Peacock is officially putting the pedal down on its first Fast & Furious TV series.
According to Deadline, the streamer has given a green light to a live-action spinoff of the blockbuster franchise, with Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman set to write and serve as coshowrunners.
Vin Diesel, who has played Dominic Toretto in every installment of the franchise since 2001’s The Fast and the Furious, will executive produce alongside longtime franchise producers including Neal H. Moritz and Chris Morgan. Diesel previously said the move into television will allow the franchise to expand the stories of its legacy characters while maintaining the movies’ emphasis on family and international appeal.
The currently untitled series is expected to premiere on Peacock in 2028, the same year the film franchise is scheduled to wrap with its 11th and (supposedly) final installment, Fast Forever, arriving March 17, 2028.
The series is one of several Fast & Furious TV projects in the works. At NBCUniversal’s Upfront presentation in New York in May, Diesel revealed three additional series in development.

“Over the last decade, we’ve realized that the fans have wanted more, they wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories,” he said at the Upfront. “And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space.”
The expansion comes as Fast & Furious celebrates its 25th anniversary. The franchise began with 2001’s The Fast and the Furious, starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, and Michelle Rodriguez, and grew from a street-racing drama into a globe-spanning action franchise.
Over the years, the movies have introduced stars including Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Sung Kang, while also spawning the 2019 spinoff Hobbs & Shaw. The franchise has earned more than $7 billion worldwide.
