‘The Price Is Right’ & ‘Let’s Make a Deal’ to Honor Breast Cancer Survivors in Special Episodes
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and to honor those who have fought or are fighting, The Price Is Right and Let’s Make a Deal are having breast cancer survivors in their audience for special episodes.
Both shows on Monday, October 5, will feature heartfelt moments as contestants share their personal journeys of survival and have the chance to win money, prizes, and exciting trips. Dressed in signature pink, the studio audiences will be filled with breast cancer fighters, survivors, and thrivers. They will celebrate the strength, resilience, and stories of those impacted by breast cancer.
In an exclusive clip, fans can see a contestant named Kerry, from Cleveland, Ohio, decked out in head-to-toe pink, with a pink feather boa and a tiara on her head. She is an 11-year cancer survivor who went to Kent State University, which is host Drew Carey‘s alma mater.
He asked her if she graduated from Kent State, and she said she has a Masters Degree. “She’s got a Masters Degree from Kent State. I got academically dismissed twice,” Carey said, which made announcer George Gray laugh. “I like to party.” He laughed.
“I’m ready to win!” she said. Kerry had the chance to win $10,000 on Half Off. The game show contestant screamed and dropped low before turning in a circle and clapping her hands.
On Let’s Make a Deal, host Wayne Brady said, “You tuned in to a great episode because this is our Breast Cancer Awareness episode!” “Everyone in this room has either been a survivor and is thriving, they’ve been touched by Breast Cancer in some way, and they are here today to raise awareness with us with this daytime party.”
He then chose three contestants who have all survived Breast Cancer — Leda, Monesha, and Aurora. Leda is five years cancer-free. Monesha is a two-time survivor, who had a sign that said, “Beat Cancer Twice. What’s a Zonk Gonna Do?”
“Two-time. I’m so glad that you’re here,” Brady said. Aurora is also a five-year survivor. She was 200 pounds when she got her diagnosis, changed her life around, and now she dances professionally.
“Look at all of you, just thriving and surviving,” Brady said. “Thank you for joining us.”
