CNN: Scott Jennings Scolded by Laura Coates After Making Bold Claim About Trump

CNN’s chief legal analyst, Laura Coates, had to reprimand Scott Jennings for his out-of-control behavior after he made a bold claim about President Donald Trump‘s ongoing war with Iran.

Jennings debated Democratic strategist Mile Nellis on the latest episode of Laura Coates Live, where the pair argued back and forth over whether the U.S. has won the war with Iran. The conservative commentator argued that Iran is “defeated,” despite evidence to the contrary.

“We have oil flowing through the Strait of Hormuz that’s approaching pre-war levels. We have a defeated enemy that has no Navy, no Air Force, no army, no defense industrial complex, and no leader that’s ever been seen in public,” he said, per The Daily Beast. “By any historic measurement, these people are defeated.”

He added, “And I think (former Chair of the House Intelligence Committee) Mike Rogers—who comes, by the way, from a law enforcement and military background—he knows what a defeated enemy looks like when he sees one.”

Coates then asked Nellis to reply, and that’s when things started to break down.

Scott Jennings kept interrupting me last night, and Laura Coates was having none of it:

“We have not defeated Iran,” Nellis stated. “The Strait of Hormuz is not open. If the Strait of Hormuz was open, we would be seeing gas prices and diesel prices come down, and that would be a relief to the average American. You’re not seeing that right now.”

Jennings interjected, claiming that “millions of barrels of oil are flying through the strait” and accusing Nellis of lying.

“Scott, let him respond,” Coates said. “You had a chance to make your case; you did. Mike, respond.”

As Nellis began to speak, Jennings interrupted again, saying, “I know you’re in a tough position; you’ve gotta lie about what’s going on.”

“Why am I still hearing you, Scott?” Coates snapped. “Mike, I’m sorry. Restart. Scott, I can’t hear him. Please stop. Mike, finish your point. Go ahead.”

Coates’ admonishment finally got the MAGA mouthpiece to shut up while Nellis made his point.

“The American people are not buying into it anymore,” Nellis continued. “And more importantly, their lives are significantly worse than they were six to eight months ago. And that’s why the Republican Party’s in trouble.”
