Raven-Symoné Says ‘The Cheetah Girls: Next-Gen’ Will Have a ‘Storyline With a Heart’

Get ready for more fashion, more songs, and a whole lot of heart on The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen. Raven-Symoné shared filming and plot details, as well as what it was like to reunite with her Cheetah sister, Adrienne Bailon.

The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen is an upcoming Disney Channel and Disney+ movie that is set to star Raven-Symoné, Bailon, and Sabrina Bryan in their original roles while raising the next generation.

“Filming in South Africa was absolutely magical,” she told us. “Adrienne Bailon and myself really enjoyed our journey with this next installment of The Cheetah Girls 4, and allowing the new Cheetahs to take the mic and the new generation to move forward.”

The movie will follow Galleria, Chanel, Galleria’s daughter, Faith (Leah Sava Jeffries), and her three friends as they travel to South Africa to volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary. They become the new generation of Cheetah Girls after saving the sanctuary.

The movie wrapped filming in July. It does not yet have a release date, but look out for it sometime in 2027. Raven told fans to expect great “songs, dance, fashion, and a storyline for the heart.”

She went on to say that director Bille Woodruff “has an eye for beauty.” “Every day, I’d wake up and be like, ‘This is what I look like? You make me look like this? Then, let me wake up. Ahhh!”

“It has been an absolute joy to film that, and I cannot wait for people to see it,” she said. Raven-Symoné is set to return as Galleria and executive produce the film alongside Debra Martin Chase, who produced the first three Cheetah Girls films. Bailon will also coproduce and star as Chanel. Bryan has a guest role as Dorinda.

Lynn Whitfield and Lori Alter are set to reprise their roles as Galleria and Chanel’s mothers, Dorothea and Juanita, respectively. Sophia Bush is set to appear in a supporting role as Jennifré. 

The new generation of Cheetah Girls includes Jeffries, Carmen Sanchez as Chanel’s sister Dior, Kaileen Chang as Ruby, and Sophie Lennon as Brooklyn. Newcomer Kamogelo Ramashala, a local South African actor, will play Kendi.
