Presley Gerber Dies at 27: See Tributes to Cindy Crawford’s Son & Kaia Gerber’s Brother

Presley Gerber, the son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber and brother of model and actress Kaia Gerber, has died. He was 27.

A representative for the family confirmed Presley’s death in a statement to People, saying, “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”

According to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records, obtained by People, Presley died on Sunday (September 20) at a rehab facility. A cause of death has not yet been confirmed. TMZ reports that an autopsy has yet to be completed.

Born on July 2, 1999, in Beverly Hills, California, Presley followed in his mother’s footsteps, beginning a modeling career at 15. He made his runway debut at 16 and modeled for several high-profile fashion brands, including Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger.

Presley also appeared alongside his mother in a 2018 Super Bowl commercial for Pepsi.

However, his personal life was impacted by mental health and addiction issues. In January 2019, Presley was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and received three years’ probation. He was also required to complete a DUI program and two days of community service.

He opened up about his mental health battles in 2023 when appearing on the Studio 22 podcast. “Having struggled with mental health, depression, and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that’s all I need to do,” he said, per People.

“[Mental health] is an issue. It is such a big part of my life. It’s a 24/7 job, and there’s so much to it,” Presley continued. “That’s really what I want to do: help people, whether you’re depressed, you’re struggling with something that is having a negative effect on your body. I mean it could be anything, and there’s no judgment.”

Presley also talked openly in his Instagram series called “Mental Health Mondays,” discussing his experiences with depression and addiction and sharing advice with his followers. In one since-deleted video, he opened up about taking different antidepressants, including Buprenorphine, Xanax, and Valium.

Back in June, Presley took part in a mental health event in Malibu, where he spoke about his experiences. He noted the pressures of growing up in the public eye and said a turning point came when he turned 23, when he felt freer after opening up about what he’d gone through.

Presley’s sister, Kaia, spoke about her brother and his “decade-long struggle with drug addiction” in the September 2026 issue of Vogue. She said Presley’s openness about his struggles was refreshing.

“My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything — and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone.’ There’s only so much you can hide from the world,” she stated. “And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them.”

Following the news of Presley’s passing, fans and friends have taken to social media to share tributes, including Paris Hilton.

“I’m completely heartbroken. I still can’t believe this is real,” Hilton wrote on her Instagram Stories alongside a photo of herself with Presley. “You were such a beautiful soul. So sweet, sensitive, kind and genuine. I cared about you so much, and I’m going to miss you more than words can say.’

She went on to say she will “cherish the memories” that they made over the years, including “the laughs, the conversations, and just being around you.”

“You had such a gentle heart and there was something so special about you that anyone who was lucky enough to know you could feel,” Hilton added. “I hope you knew how deeply loved you were and how many people cared about you. My heart is with your entire family during this unimaginable time. Rest in peace, my friend. Love you forever. You will be so deeply missed.”

Brooklyn Beckham, son of David Beckham, also shared a tribute in his Instagram Stories, writing, “Presley you were the kindest and we are going to miss you so much. We love you.”

Presley is survived by his sister, Kaia, and his parents, Cindy and Rande.
