Get ready for more murder, Faithfuls! The Emmy-winning show The Traitors has been renewed for three more seasons.
Peacock announced on September 16 that, in addition to Season 5, The Traitors will murder three more times, taking the celebrity-filled show up to Season 8.
Following his third consecutive Emmy win for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program, Alan Cumming will return as host and executive producer. The show itself has earned seven Emmy wins.
The Traitors follows celebrities living in a castle in the Scottish Highlands. Most of them are the Faithfuls, whose job it is to sneak out the Traitors, who are typically three to four people among the group.
Along the way, they complete challenges to put money in the prize pot, which can reach $250,000. The Traitors murder one Faithful, and the Faithfuls try to banish a Traitor at the end of the episode.

At the end of the season, if the Faithfuls think they have gotten all of the Traitors out, and they are right, they split the prize money. However, if even one Traitor slips through the cracks, the Traitor(s) take home the entire prize pot.
Peacock concluded its most recent season of The Traitors with its biggest ratings to-date, as viewership surged +72% over the prior season. Since its January debut, the show has been viewed more than 8.1 billion minutes and ranks as the second streaming original reality series of 2026 to-date by minutes viewed. The only series ahead of it is Love Island USA.
The cast has not yet been announced for Season 5, which is set to air in 2027. However, fans have put out some opinions, and we have some picks of our own.
But fans of the show won’t have to wait too long to see Cumming back on their TVs and Traitors murdering again. The all-new civilian season, The Traitors: New Blood, is set to premiere on Thursday, September 17 on NBC. The concept is the same except there are no celebrities among the cast. It is everyday people, among some influencers, vying for money. Season 1 had half civilians and half celebrities, then switched to all celebrities going forward.
