- Bartiromo has been linked to a potential role at CBS News and 60 Minutes.
Maria Bartiromo has shared her first public comments since her shocking departure from Fox News last week and has promised her fans there is “more to come.”
“Thank you to all friends & followers for your amazing words,” the veteran news anchor posted on X alongside a photo of a rainbow emerging from behind the clouds. “I am so grateful for the outpouring of love on SM & texts. I love you all. Here’s a great shot of the [rainbow emoji] breaking through, I snapped the other day. More to come.”
Fox News announced Bartiromo’s exit from the network on September 3, saying in a statement, “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter.”

The Status newsletter later reported that Bartiromo was accused of leaking an internal network document to the White House. The correspondence reportedly related to Fox’s decision to limit coverage of Donald Trump’s primetime speech about the 2020 election, in which he claimed others, including China, had interfered in the 2020 election.
However, Bartiromo’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, denied his client was fired. “The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false,” he said last week. “Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise.”
Since her departure, Bartiromo, who hosted three shows across Fox News and Fox Business, has been linked to CBS News and a potential role on 60 Minutes. According to Rob Shuter’s newsletter, Naughty But Nice, Bartiromo and CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss have discussed the possibility of working together.
“Maria and Bari have already spoken,” a television insider told Shuter. “Maria isn’t sitting around licking her wounds. She’s moving fast, and 60 Minutes is absolutely in the mix.”
Social media users reacted to Bartiromo’s latest update, with many hoping to see her return to television soon.
“Maria, I have been watching your business reporting for 21 years at CNBC and 13 years at Fox Business. Now we millions of fans anxiously await to find out where we can watch your reporting again! Whoever let you go is very short-sighted! YOU ARE THE BEST in your field!” wrote one X commenter.
“You were the only person that I watched on Fox after the 2020 election. I am now done with Fox. I hope another network picks you up soon. You are so gifted and talented,” said another.
Another added, “You have been extremely professional & effective these many years. Best of good fortune in the future.”
“So sorry this happened to you. You did not deserve but I know you’ll find an even better home soon,” wrote one user.
“The world needs your voice, Maria. All the best to you and to those important to you,” added another.
