Tiny TVs & Big Shows Take Over the Toy World’s Massive ‘Miniverse’

As if we needed another reminder that physical media needs to be preserved as much as possible, here comes more proof that what is old is new and awesome again.

Toy company MGA Entertainment — the brand behind those addictive Miniverse blind boxes and balls — has taken our biggest love (television) and shrunken it down to the perfect size for collectors looking to save space and still be the coolest kid on their block. Much like MGA’s Miniverse Real Music Record Player, which launched earlier this year with a small, working record player that could play clips from scaled-down classic LPs by Britney Spears, blink-182, The Beach Boys, TLC, Elton John, Public Enemy, and more, MGA’s Miniverse Real TV™ is a fully functional mini TV that can actually play equally teeny video-cassette tapes featuring authentic 30-second clips, from a slew of movies and TV shows. You can finally stage your Rainbow High dolls’ First Movie Night or design the world’s wildest fairy house!

This full set includes the Real TV, an exclusive, playable mini videotape, a mini TV stand, and one mini video display-case. Basically every Gen Xer’s midcentury modern-infused youth in a box. And forget about finding a mini Blockbuster…you can just stock those pee-wee shelves by snatching up the mystery capsules, which include a trio of mini videotapes that include clips from Back to the Future, Shrek, The Office, The Good Place, Parks and Recreation, Kung Fu Panda, Jaws, the original Saved by the Bell, and more.

Insert them into the MGA’s Miniverse Real TV™ (sold separately) and boom, nostalgia on demand. With over 30 titles hidden among the capsules, every unboxing is a new surprise for TV fans, miniature afficionados, and pop-culture vultures. There’s also a keychain to display your favorite tape on your keys, backpack, or bag and best of all, no late fees ever!

MGA’s Miniverse Real TV and Videos drop Thursday, Sept. 10th and are available for pre-order now.
