‘Today’ Ratings Setback in Battle With ‘GMA’ & ‘CBS Mornings’

The morning news ratings for the week of August 10 are in, and ABC News’ Good Morning America has reclaimed the top spot in total viewers from NBC News’ Today.
According to AdWeek, citing Nielsen’s national live+same-day big data plus program ratings, GMA averaged 2.772 million total viewers and 462,000 viewers in the coveted Adults 25-54 demographic for the week of August 10. This was up 2 percent in total viewers and up 4 percent in the demo compared to the previous week.
Compared to the same period in 2025, GMA, co-hosted by Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan, was up 11 percent in total viewers and up 4 percent in the key demo.
Today fell into the second spot in total viewers with 2.757 million for the week of August 10. However, it remained in the No. 1 slot in the demo, averaging 586,000 viewers. The show was up 1 percent in total viewers but down 1 percent in the demo compared to the week before, making it the only newscast to be down in one of these measured categories.
Year over year, Today, co-hosted by Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin, was up in both metrics, rising 11 percent in total viewers and 7 percent in the demo.
Meanwhile, CBS Mornings averaged 1.707 million total viewers and 274,000 demo viewers for the week of August 10. This was up 5 percent in total viewers and up 7 percent in the demo compared to the week prior.
CBS Mornings, hosted by Gayle King and Nate Burleson, was also up 1 percent in total viewers compared to the same period in 2025. However, the show fell by 4 percent in the demo, making it the only newscast to drop in one of the yearly comparisons.

WELL, in my honest opinion ……the show/gang on NBC IS FAR FAR AHEAD of all the others. I haven’t’ watched the competing networks in quite some time (ONLY now/then to take a peek at the other two competitors. As far as I can see NBC is still MILES AHEAD). SO, I’ll stay hooked on NBC (thank you very much).
