‘The Great British Baking Show’ Announces Return Date With New Judge Nigella Lawson

The famous white tent is about to reopen for a new crop of budding bakers as The Great British Baking Show will return for collection 14 on Netflix next month.
Alison Hammond, who co-hosts the competition series alongside Noel Fielding, shared a collaborative post on her own Instagram and the show’s official account. “Bake Off returns next month on Channel 4. See you in the tent!” read the caption of the post, which featured a video of Hammond dancing up to the camera and throwing sprinkles.
According to People, a Netflix representative confirmed that the show will air on the streamer in the U.S. following the U.K. Channel 4 broadcast weekly, as it has in previous years.
“DA DA DA DAAAAA! It’s official… The Great British Bake Off is BACK!,” Hammond wrote alongside her own post. “I’m so excited for you all to meet this year’s brilliant bakers. They’ve brought the talent, the laughs, the nerves and, of course, some absolutely gorgeous bakes into the tent!”

She continued, “We’ve had the BEST time filming this series, and I genuinely can’t wait for you to see what we’ve got in store. No spoilers from me though…”
TV chef Nigella Lawson, who is replacing Prue Leith as a judge on the upcoming season, also shared a promotional video on her Instagram account. The clip sees Lawson in a purple jumpsuit approaching the camera with a fork and saying, “Ooh, luscious,” before digging in.

“I’m a bit nervous, very excited, and extremely happy: Bake Off is back on our screens next month!” Lawson wrote in her caption. “I’ve loved every minute. It’s a real honour to be part of something so special.”
She also thanked fellow judge Paul Hollywood, as well as hosts Hammond and Fielding, “for making me feel so instantly part of the family. You three plus cake: talk about the dream job!”
“The Bake Off foursome have spent the hottest summer together in the tent, with a new intake of bakers rising to each of the challenges,” reads an official release shared with People. “Viewers can expect to see Nigella bringing her trademark warmth, wit and passion for flavor to the tent, alongside Paul Hollywood and his famously exacting eye for a great bake.”
It continues, “Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding return to guide the bakers and keep them smiling through the thrills, spills and showstoppers in what promises to be a truly delicious series.”
