When the Lindsay Clancy trial began in July, her lawyer, Kevin Reddington, was thrust into the spotlight — but it isn’t his first rodeo in a high-profile case. Let’s take a closer look at the attorney defending Clancy.
Who is Kevin Reddington? He’s the lawyer defending Lindsay Clancy
Reddington, 75, has been a lawyer for more than 50 years and has been involved in over 100 murder cases. In 2002, Boston Magazine even named him the best criminal defense attorney in Massachusetts. Reddington was also inducted as a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 1996.
Today, Reddington is representing Lindsay, 36, who is charged with first-degree murder in the January 2023 deaths of her three children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, 38, allegedly found the kids strangled with exercise bands in their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home, after running errands. Additionally, Lindsay cut her throat and wrists, and jumped out of a two-story window. She is now paralyzed from the waist down. Although Reddington does not dispute that Lindsay killed her children, he argues that she’s not criminally responsible because she suffered from severe postpartum psychosis.

He became well-known in 1989
In 1989, Reddington rose to fame after winning the case for his client, Therese Rogers. He argued that Rogers suffered from PTSD from her boyfriend’s abuse, and that she exhibited signs of delusion when she fatally stabbed him.
He also won a 1998 case while representing Boston Red Sox first baseman Mo Vaughn by arguing that he failed several sobriety tests following a car accident due to shock and not drunk driving.
For a 1999 case, Reddington defended (unsuccessfully) Richard Shuman, who was accused of murdering two of his business associates. He also convinced the judge to have Shuman undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
Another major client of Reddington was Catherine Greig, the girlfriend of convicted killer James “Whitey” Bulger.
Reddington’s quirky personal interests have also drawn attention
When he’s not representing clients in court, Reddington has found time to become a black belt in karate, per CT Insider. He also reportedly displays skulls, swords, and daggers in his office.
Additionally, the lawyer has multiple tattoos, including one that says, “Never represent an informant,” in Latin and another that says “Come and take them,” in Greek.

I do not like him. He is condescending and rude
Having said that, if I ever need a defense attorney (hopefully never, ever-ever!!!), i hope it would be him.
