Season 35 of Dancing With the Stars will be memorable for pro Witney Carson for more reasons than one.
Before making her guest judge appearance on the Monday, August 17, episode of Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro, Carson stopped by Good Morning America to drop some major news about DWTS Season 35, including who her latest celebrity partner will be.
Carson told host Michael Strahan she was “so stoked” to learn that she will dance with Jimmy Kimmel Live! star Guillermo Rodriguez on Season 35. “I think he is so sweet. He’s so fun. That’s exactly what I need in this season of life that I’m in, just someone who’s fun, personable,” she shared. “I hope we still connect after he realizes that I don’t drink and we won’t be able to do tequila shots, but we can do some water. We can connect other ways. But I’m really excited.”
Rodriguez is one of four celebrity contestants confirmed for Season 35, including Summer House‘s Ciara Miller, The Traitors star Maura Higgins, and Savannah Bananas baseball player Jackson Olson. The full Season 35 cast lineup will be revealed on the September 2 episode of GMA.

On the ABC morning show, Strahan noted that Carson will have “another partner” dancing with her during the new season. She went on to announce, “I am expecting, so I will be dancing with this little baby right here.”
Carson shares her two sons, Leo and Jet, with her husband, Carson McAllister, whom she wed in 2016. “I’m very excited, but I would be lying if I said it wasn’t very daunting,” she continued. “I’ve never been this far along pregnant and competing on Dancing With the Stars before, ever. I don’t know if it’s ever been done. So, you guys will definitely see a big bump.”
Carson added, “Someone the other day was like, ‘You can just hide it with some fringe and rhinestones.’ And I was just thinking, I’m like, ‘I don’t want to hide it.’ I am so proud to be a woman, to be creating life and growing this human. And to be able to do the show and compete and be able to grow this life is such a huge blessing. And I’m so proud of it, and I’m gonna kick butt while doing it.”
Strahan went on to ask, “What are you expecting heading into the next season with a baby on board?” Carson replied, “I don’t really know what to expect. Like I said, I’ve never done it before. It wasn’t on my bingo card to compete on Dancing With the Stars and be four months pregnant. But I think that it’s a beautiful thing, and I think that I am really excited. I want to feel empowered. I want to see what my body can do. And hopefully, Guillermo will be right there beside me and we can work as a team. And being a mother is the greatest blessing that I could ever ask for, so I’m very blessed.”
