  • The reunion photo sparked excitement among fans, as Thomas has largely stayed out of the public eye since his time on the popular ’90s sitcom.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas just reunited with his Home Improvement costars in the first photo fans have seen of him in years.

On Wednesday, July 29, Patricia Richardson — who played Tim Taylor’s (Tim Allen) wife, Jill, in the beloved ’90s sitcom — took to Instagram with a photo that sent fans into a frenzy.

“My other boys,” Richardson, 75, declared, alongside a photo of two of her three former onscreen kids, Thomas, 44, and Taran Noah Smith, 42. (Richardson has three children in real life, too.)

Thomas played the middle son, Randy, in Home Improvement, while Smith played the youngest son, Mark. Meanwhile, Zachery Ty Bryan, 44, who played the oldest son, Brad, is serving a 16-month jail sentence following multiple arrests and probation violations.

In the comments, Richardson’s followers could hardly contain their excitement over the unexpected reunion — and especially the rare glimpse of Thomas. One Instagram user wrote, “This makes my millennial heart so happy to see. Please tell them some random girl on Instagram says ‘hello!'”

Another shared, “And for those who keep hoping for a new ‘here he is!’ photo of Mr. Thomas … our internet just exploded.”

Someone else confessed, “I’ll never outgrow my JTT phase, I fear,” as a second echoed, “Two of your three boys. My 90s heart.”

A different follower exclaimed, “Omg. Thank you for sharing this!!! I love seeing Jonathan when we can, I thought I’d marry him when I was 10.”

Meanwhile, yet another Instagram user pointed out, “Is this super recent because we rarely ever get a current JTT picture in the wild and I am here for it.”

Home Improvement aired for eight seasons from 1991 to 1998. In addition to Richardson, Allen, Thomas, Smith, and Bryan, the show starred Richard Karn as Al, Earl Hindman as Wilson, and Debbe Dunning as Heidi, among others.

Since the show ended, Thomas has mostly stayed out of the public eye. He did, however, appear in four episodes of Allen’s sitcom Last Man Standing, between 2013 and 2015.
