MS NOW, Fox News, and CNN all saw growth in both primetime and total day viewership for the week of July 13. In fact, all three cable news networks had double-dight increases in primetime viewers compared to the week prior.
Fox News won the week, ranking first in primetime and total day viewership, as well as first for the key demo (Adults age 25 to 54) in both primetime and total day. The network averaged 2.459 million total viewers and 234,000 key demo viewers in primetime, a respective 17% and 43% compared to the week of July 6. For total day, Fox News averaged 1.474 million total viewers and 135,000 in the adults demo, a gain of 3% and 6%, respectively, when compared to the pervious week.
MS NOW had an average of 1.15 million total viewers and 104,000 key demo viewers during primetime for the week of July 13, an increase of 12% and 11$%, respectively, compared to the prior week. The network’s total day average was 693,000 total viewers and 61,000 viewers in the key demo. This was a 14% and 3% increase, respectively, compared to the July 6 week.
Ranked against the other basic cable news networks, MS NOW finished in second place for total primetime viewers and 13th place for total primetime demo viewers. For total day, it ranked second place for total viewers and ninth place for key demo viewers.
CNN brought in an average of 711,000 total primetime viewers and averaged 113,000 key demo viewers during primetime. The network’s primetime numbers were up 22% in total viewers and up 19% in key demo viewers compared to the prior week. For total day, CNN averaged 477,000 total viewers and 67,000 key demo viewers, an 8% and 16% increase, respectively.
These numbers put CNN in fourth place for primetime total viewers and 10th place for primetime demo viewers, while it ranked third for total day viewers and seventh for total day demo viewers.
Compared to the same week one year ago, Fox News was up 1% in total viewers and down 10% in demo viewers for primetime. For total day, the network was down 5% in total viewers and down 29% in demo viewers, making Fox News the only network to see declines in the year-to-year comparison.
On the other hand, MS NOW was up 30% in total primetime viewers and up 21% in primetime demo viewers compared to the same week in 2025. For total day, MS NOW saw an increase of 31% in total viewers and 17% in demo viewers versus 2025.
CNN increased primetime total viewership by 47% and primetime demo viewership by 27%, and total day total viewership and total day demo viewership by 30% and 10%, respectively, in comparison to last year.
